A cozy winter coffee with fresh pine and bright citrus notes for a forest-inspired treat

1 tablespoon fresh pine needles, cleaned and chopped
1 orange , zested
240ml hot water (185°F/85°C)
Clean and chop fresh pine needles
Grind coffee beans to medium-fine consistency
Set up AeroPress in inverted position
Add ground coffee, chopped pine needles, and orange zest
Pour hot water and stir gently
Let steep for 1 minute
Attach filter cap with pre-wetted filter
Flip and press over cup
Remove pine needles and zest if desired, serve hot
Use only fresh, young pine needles from edible pine species (Eastern White Pine recommended)
Wash pine needles thoroughly before use
Zest the orange just before brewing for the freshest flavor
Water temperature should be 185°F (85°C) to avoid bitter pine notes
